What are the Medical Facts Regarding Liver Cancer that are Being Suppressed?

FACTS about Liver Cancer:

The science is clear that use of steroids such as progestin and estrogen lowers a woman's risk of endometrial and ovarian cancers. The problem is that the breast, cervical, and liver cancers that they cause are cumulatively much more common and deadly. According to the American Cancer Society, out of 100 women with cancer, 31 have breast cancer, 6 have endometrial cancer and only 3 have ovarian cancer, so it is NOT a good "trade-off" in risk. A few of many facts:

"This study, the largest to date, adds to the number of investigations demonstrating an increased risk of primary liver cancer with use, particularly long-term use, of oral contraceptives."

"The results confirm the strong positive association between oral contraceptive use and hepatocellular carcinoma observed in earlier studies. Such an association is consistent with evidence that oral contraceptive use is associated with benign hepatic tumors in young women."

"Several studies have found that OCs increase the risk of liver cancer in populations usually considered low risk, such as white women in the United States and Europe who do not have liver disease. In these studies, women who used OCs for longer periods of time were found to be at increased risk for liver cancer. "

What does the University of Virginia Health System have to say about this risk, especially when considering that heavy drinking (a tradition at UVA) is also a factor in developing liver cancer?

Nothing.

That's bad for business.

They promote and market pills, patches, and rings to women and boast that they can reduce the risk of endometrial and cervical cancers, but make no mention of the three more common and deadly cancers they cause.
